Precision Body Contouring Treatments
Body Contouring
Designed for the Body You Are Already Working On
You have put in the work. The training is consistent, the food is dialed in, the scale says what you wanted it to say. And there is still an area that will not respond, that looks softer than the effort you have put in, that seems to have decided it is staying regardless of what you do.
Body contouring is built for exactly that gap. It is not a shortcut and it is not a substitute for what you are already doing. It is a set of treatments designed to refine what training and nutrition have brought you close to. At Revive Clinic & IV Therapy, your plan is built around what you are actually trying to change, using the Venus Legacy™ system, electromagnetic muscle stimulation, or both together.
Our Middleburg office serves patients from across western Loudoun County and the surrounding hunt country, including Aldie, Upperville, The Plains, Philomont, Purcellville, Marshall, and Leesburg. Revive is a fee-for-service practice offering both clinical care and aesthetic medicine, so your treatment is planned by a provider who knows your full health history.
Your first appointment is simply a conversation. Your provider will look at the areas you want to change, ask about your training and your goals, and walk you through what these treatments can do. You will leave with a clear plan, a realistic picture of your results, and no pressure to schedule anything that day.

What Is Body Contouring?
Body contouring is a category rather than a single treatment. Revive offers two technologies that work on different aspects of how an area looks, and they are frequently used together because they solve different problems.
Radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields
The Venus Legacy™ system delivers radiofrequency energy along with pulsed electromagnetic fields and gentle suction. The radiofrequency warms the tissue beneath the skin, which improves the appearance of skin firmness and the dimpling associated with cellulite. The suction lifts the tissue toward the applicator so the energy reaches evenly, and it encourages circulation through the treated area. It is comfortable enough that most patients describe it as a warm massage.
Electromagnetic muscle stimulation
This technology prompts the muscles in a treated area to contract far more intensely and far more often than they can through voluntary effort. A single session produces thousands of contractions. Muscle responds to that stimulus the way it responds to training, by strengthening and building, which improves the tone and definition of the area beneath the skin.
The two approaches address different layers. One works on the skin and the tissue just beneath it. The other works on the muscle underneath that. Which you need depends entirely on what you are trying to change, which is what your consultation is for.
The goal is not to replace your training. It is to refine the areas that training alone has not been able to reach.
Treatment Options
Your provider will recommend the right approach after assessing the area and understanding your goal.
Radiofrequency contouring
Best when the concern is the appearance of the skin and the tissue just beneath it, including dimpling, softness, and firmness along the abdomen, thighs, or arms.
Muscle stimulation
Best when the concern is tone and definition, and when you want the muscle beneath the area to be stronger and more visible.
Combined protocol
Many patients use both, treating the skin and the muscle in the same plan. Your provider will sequence them so each does its job without working against the other.
What Concerns Can Body Contouring Address?
- Softness along the abdomen that persists despite training
- The appearance of dimpling on the thighs or buttocks
- Loss of tone in the upper arms
- Definition in the midsection that training has not brought out
- Firmness along the flanks
- Muscle tone in the abdomen after pregnancy, once cleared for treatment
- Areas that look softer than the rest of your body
- Skin quality on the body rather than the face
- The final refinement on a physique you are otherwise happy with
Body contouring suits patients who are at or near a stable weight and want to refine specific areas. Your provider will confirm at your consultation that these treatments match what you are hoping to achieve.
Treatment Areas
- Abdomen The most commonly treated area, for both skin firmness and muscle tone.
- Flanks Treated for contour along the sides of the waist.
- Thighs Front, back, and inner thighs, for the appearance of dimpling and for firmness.
- Buttocks Treated for tone and lift through muscle stimulation, and for skin quality through radiofrequency.
- Upper arms Addresses softness and tone in an area that is difficult to target through training alone.
- Back Treated for skin firmness along the bra line and upper back.
Your provider will map the treatment plan by area, since the technology that suits one region may not be the one that suits another.

Results vary considerably. Starting point, body composition, age, skin quality, hormones, activity level, nutrition, and how consistently you complete the course all affect the outcome. These treatments refine and improve areas rather than transform them, and they work best on patients who are already close to where they want to be. Improvements from radiofrequency treatment are temporary and are maintained with periodic sessions. Muscle gains respond the same way training does, holding as long as the stimulus continues in some form.
Treatment Timeline
- Session length.
Most sessions run 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area and the technology used.
- Comfort
Radiofrequency treatment feels like a warm massage. Muscle stimulation feels like an intense workout in the treated area, without the effort.
- Series
Radiofrequency protocols generally involve six to ten sessions, often weekly. Muscle stimulation protocols are typically shorter and more concentrated, with several sessions across a few weeks.
- First visible change
Many patients notice a difference partway through the course, with results continuing to build to completion.
- Full result
Assessed several weeks after the final session, once the tissue and muscle have fully responded.
- Maintenance
Periodic sessions hold your results. Your provider will recommend an interval based on the technology used and how you responded.
What Happens During Your Visit
- Consultation
Your provider examines the areas you want to change, assessing skin quality, tissue firmness, muscle tone, and your overall body composition. They ask about your training, your nutrition, your weight history, and what specifically you are hoping to see change.
They review your medical history, medications and supplements, allergies, implanted medical devices, any metal implants, recent surgeries, and any recent pregnancy.
Your provider will explain which technology suits your goal, how many sessions to expect, and what the full course costs before anything begins. Measurements and photographs are often taken at the start so progress can be tracked objectively.
- Preparation
The treatment area is cleansed. For radiofrequency treatment, a gel is applied so the applicator moves smoothly and the energy transfers evenly. For muscle stimulation, applicators are positioned and secured over the target area.
You will be positioned comfortably, since you will be there for half an hour or more.
- Treatment
For radiofrequency contouring, your provider moves the applicator across the treatment area in a continuous pattern, maintaining the tissue at a therapeutic temperature throughout. Most patients describe it as a warm, deep massage and find it genuinely relaxing.
For muscle stimulation, the applicator delivers energy that produces rapid, intense muscle contractions. The sensation builds gradually as your provider increases intensity to a level you tolerate comfortably. Most patients describe it as strange at first and then unremarkable. You can read, work, or talk throughout.
- Aftercare Guidance
There is no downtime. Treated skin may look slightly pink and feel warm for a short while afterward, and muscle stimulation may leave the area feeling as it would after a hard workout.
Drink water, and continue with your normal training and nutrition, since these treatments work alongside what you are already doing rather than in place of it.
You will receive written aftercare instructions at your appointment, including guidance on when to call. Contact Revive Clinic & IV Therapy if anything concerns you in the days following treatment.
How Much Does Body Contouring Cost?
Pricing depends on which technology your plan uses, how many areas are treated, and how many sessions your course includes.
Because body contouring works as a course, Revive Clinic & IV Therapy discusses the whole plan and its cost during your consultation, so you can decide with the full picture in front of you rather than one session at a time. You will know what is recommended and what it costs before any treatment is performed, and you are free to decline.
Your first consultation is complimentary for new patients.
First Time Considering Body Contouring?
The most important thing to know is what these treatments are for. They refine. They do not replace training, they do not substitute for nutrition, and they are not a weight loss method. Patients who arrive already doing the work and want help with a specific area are consistently the happiest with their results. Patients hoping the technology will do the work instead are not.
The second thing is that this is a course rather than a session. The changes come from repeated stimulus over several weeks, in the same way training produces change through repetition rather than through a single hard workout.
The third is that maintenance is part of the picture. Radiofrequency improvements are held with periodic sessions, and muscle gains behave like any other muscle gains. Your provider will tell you what maintaining your result actually involves before you start, not after.
At your consultation your provider will assess the areas you want to change, explain which technology suits your goal, tell you what is realistic, and give you the full course and its cost from the outset.
Maintaining Your Results
What you do outside the treatment room matters more here than with almost any other aesthetic service. Consistent training and stable nutrition protect the results you build, and significant weight change will alter them regardless of how many sessions you completed.
Most patients maintain with periodic sessions, spaced according to which technology they used and how their body responded. Your provider will recommend a rhythm rather than a standing appointment.
Muscle responds to stimulus. Continuing to train the treated areas keeps the tone you built, and periodic sessions supplement that rather than replacing it.
Why Choose Revive Clinic & IV Therapy?
Revive Clinic & IV Therapy is a nurse-practitioner-led practice. Dr. Gurpreet Bajwa, DNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who spent more than a decade in urgent care in Ashburn before founding Revive, and who has worked closely with dermatology, endocrinology, and internal medicine. Dr. Bajwa holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and practices under a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, as Virginia requires.
Body contouring works best when someone is honest with you about what it can do. A provider who tells you that your goal calls for a different approach, or that you are already where these treatments work best, is worth more than one who sells you the longest package.
It also means that if what you are describing has a medical explanation, from thyroid function to hormonal changes, you are in a practice that can look into it rather than treat the surface and hope.
Treatment here is planned as a course with a defined endpoint and a clear maintenance picture, so you know what you are committing to before you start.
We are not going to tell you this replaces the work. We are going to help you finish what the work got you close to.
Enhance Your Experience
Body contouring refines specific areas. Patients working toward a broader change often combine it with treatments that address related goals.
- Medical weight management where reaching a stable goal weight comes first
- RF microneedling for skin quality and firmness on the face and neck
- IV therapy and vitamin injections to support recovery and training
- Functional medicine and lab testing where an underlying cause may be part of the picture
Each recommendation is made individually during your consultation. Not every service is appropriate for every patient, and results vary. Your provider will advise on sequencing and timing.
Let's Talk About the Result You Want
You know which area it is. The one you check in the mirror sideways, the one you dress around, the one that has not moved no matter how disciplined you have been about everything else. You are not asking for a different body. You want the one you have been building to finally show.
Bring that to your consultation and be specific about the area and the goal. The clearer you are, the better your provider can tell you which technology suits it, how many sessions it will take, what the result will realistically look like, and whether these treatments are the right answer for what you are describing.
Your first consultation is complimentary. You will leave knowing what is achievable, how long it will take, and what the full course will cost, before you commit to anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is body contouring?
Body contouring is a category of non-invasive treatments that refine the appearance of specific areas of the body. Revive offers radiofrequency treatment, which works on the skin and the tissue just beneath it to improve firmness and the appearance of dimpling, and electromagnetic muscle stimulation, which prompts intense muscle contractions to build tone and definition in the muscle underneath.
Is this a weight loss treatment?
No. Body contouring refines specific areas and does not produce weight loss. These treatments work best for patients at or near a stable weight who want to improve a particular area. If weight loss is your primary goal, your provider will discuss approaches intended for that.
Will this get rid of my cellulite?
Radiofrequency treatment improves the appearance of the dimpling associated with cellulite, and that improvement is temporary and maintained with periodic sessions. It does not eliminate cellulite permanently.
Does it hurt?
Radiofrequency treatment feels like a warm, deep massage and most patients find it relaxing. Muscle stimulation feels like intense muscle contractions, which is unusual at first but not painful. Intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout.
How many sessions will I need?
Radiofrequency protocols generally involve six to ten sessions, often weekly. Muscle stimulation protocols are typically shorter and more concentrated. Your provider will give you a specific plan at your consultation
Is there downtime?
No. Most patients return to normal activity immediately. The treated area may feel warm, and muscle stimulation can leave the area feeling as it would after a hard workout.
How long do results last?
Radiofrequency improvements are temporary and are maintained with periodic sessions. Muscle gains behave like any other muscle gains, holding as long as the stimulus continues through training or maintenance sessions.
Can I do this after having a baby?
Often yes, once you have been cleared by your own provider and enough time has passed. Your provider will discuss timing and will ask about any separation of the abdominal muscles.
Do I still need to exercise and eat well?
Yes. These treatments refine what training and nutrition have brought you close to, and they work alongside those efforts rather than in place of them. Significant weight change will alter your results.
Am I a good candidate?
These treatments suit patients at or near a stable weight who want to refine a specific area. Your provider will assess the area, your goals, and your medical history at your consultation.
Who is not a candidate?
Body contouring is not appropriate for individuals with implanted electronic devices including pacemakers and defibrillators, metal implants in the treatment area, or an intrauterine device where the abdomen is being treated. It is also not appropriate with active infection or open skin in the treatment area, a current or recent cancer diagnosis, bleeding or clotting disorders, a hernia in the treatment area, a seizure disorder, impaired sensation to heat in the area, or recent surgery in the area, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Certain medications, including anticoagulants, require discussion. Candidacy is determined only after individual evaluation by a qualified healthcare provider.
What are the risks?
Body contouring treatments are medical procedures with associated risks. Common effects include temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling, and muscle soreness in the treated area. Additional risks include bruising, particularly where suction is used, blistering or burns, temporary changes in skin sensation, changes in skin pigmentation, and discomfort during or after treatment. Muscle stimulation may cause temporary muscle spasm or cramping.
What results can I expect?
Results vary between individuals and depend on starting point, body composition, age, skin quality, hormonal factors, activity level, nutrition, and completion of the recommended course. These treatments refine and improve the appearance of treated areas rather than transform them. Improvements from radiofrequency treatment are temporary. No specific outcome, degree of improvement, or number of sessions required can be guaranteed.
